Leaf art painting...
The leaves used for painting are peepal tree leaf or banyan tree leaf. Once the green leaves are plucked from the tree, they are soaked in water for about 10-15 days...Water should be changed every 3-4 days to prevent decay of leaves. Once the outer layers are completely removed, the leaves are taken out and washed with water. The remaining layers can be removed using toothbrush. This process requires a lot of patience. Once the cleaning is done the leaf skeleton will be white in colour. This has to be dried completely before starting to paint.
Dried leaf skeleton
Paint the outline with a thin brush.
Complete the design. We need to be very carfel when applying paint with brush as the leaves are very delicate.
