Needle and Thread - Home

I used Anchor stitch kit for this project. Lots of threads, easy to follow instructions and a wide variety of designs/sizes are some of the advantages of these kits.

Since only long stitch is involved and the markings on the design are very clear, these are a great way to bust your stress! You can keep on stitching with no thought of the world..

Quilled Violin

Quilling is the craft of rolling paper and achieving beautiful results.

There are lots of amazing artists who excel in quilling. One such blog is Daydreams which is a true inspiration for all quillers out there. I noticed the guitar on this site and decided to use the same method to make a violin.

Here is the end result, hope you like it!

Quilled Monogram

A monogram is a great way to decorate your living space! This quilled letter art is a result of my special liking towards the alphabet 'A' as my name starts with the same...

Bead work

Seed beads are small beads used in jewellery making. I had a whole lot of them left from my earlier project and decided to make something out of it. Who doesn't love Tinker Bell???

After drawing the outline I applied glue on small portions and placed each bead separately using a needle.Once this was done, green acrylic was applied to the background.

Glitterati

Anyone who has dealt with glitter knows how difficult managing it is. Glitter glue pens make the process of applying glitter easy like a normal pen or pencil.

For this glitter peacock, I drew the outline using black pen and filled in the glitter colors.

Doodles are fun - Part 2

Another attempt at doodling.

I cut 2 squares (one big and one small) and a heart shape from construction paper and doodled on them. Then I used a sewing thread to attach the pieces to each other. This one hangs from the ceiling of my living room now :)

Doodles are fun - Part 1

As Wiki says, " A doodle is an unfocused or unconscious drawing made while a person's attention is otherwise occupied. Stereotypical examples of doodling are found in school notebooks, often in the margins, drawn by students daydreaming or losing interest during class." :-)

Doodling is a wonderful way to relax. A pen and paper are all you need to doodle away. You can even do it while watching your favourite shows on TV and that's the best part for me :-)

These were drawn with black pen on the cardboard roll which came with the gift wrapping paper.

Lady of Music- Glass Painting

Glass painting can be used to create amazing decor for home. With a little patience glass and colours can be used to create unique art.

This is my first attempt at glass painting.

Materials used:

1. Black tube colour for outline design
2. Glass painting colours (I used water based colours)
3. Glitter glue pens (optional).

Method:

1. Place the design under the glass. They can be taped to the glass to avoid slipping.
2. Trace the image on the glass using the black outliner.
3. Allow the design to dry for 24 hours. Once it is dry use a craft knife to correct any mistakes made during the tracing. The knife can also be used to adjust the thickness of the lines.

4. Start filling in the glass colours. The tube of colour itself can be used in fluid motion to fill in the colours. Ensure that there are no bubbles after applying the colours. Use a small needle/pin to pop the bubbles before the paint dries.
5. Allow the paint to dry completely.
6. Glitter glue pens can be used to highlight the painting.
7. If needed, crushed aluminium foil can be used behind the glass for a shining effect.

Frame the piece and you have your glass painting ready!!!

"If you hear a voice within you say 'you cannot paint' then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced."
